Just beta. Mike@n54tuning had a presale of 25 units on his site a couple of days ago, but that is over now. Shouldn't be too much longer though.

So I get what all the hype is about for the pre-29.2 guys. For those who are not so lucky though, what is the max realistic setting (from 2.75-5) that we can expect to run without pissing off Big Brother?

Anyone in the Chicago area with a GT1??

The default 2.75 is what Terry suggests for the post 29.2 people to be 100% safe not to throw codes. The SSTT is +3.5 psi, so you PROBABLY, key word probably, would be safe bumping it up to 3 or 3.5, but there is a possibility it could throw a tuner code under the right conditions. Easiest thing would be to drop $300 on a Bavarian Technic and just clear any codes it threw before taking it in for service. Big Brother will never know. From what I hear, pretty neat tool for peace of mind, and it can be used for a lot of other things.

The BT tool sounds like a great investment. Only $300, eh? I thought those devices were gonna cost more than that. I was looking at one of those types of diagnostic/code clearing tools when I had my E36 M, and I remember them being like $600+.

But, $300 would be way more than worth it. And I'm sure there are plenty in the area that would benefit from it as well.

I like the way this JB+ thing is looking... I may just be lazy enough to go that route instead of JB3.... Hmmmmm.... Warm weather is just around the corner too!

Yeah, the BT is going to be my next investment for my car. Definitely sounds worth it. Keep in mind that the $300 one can only be used on 3 different cars. You have to buy the professional version which is higher to use on more than 3 cars. I plan on ordering one in the next few weeks.

Yeah I just did some internet research on it and saw that for the professional version, you have to fork over $750, but $300 isn't bad at all for personal use. It has the potential to save your ass wayyyy more than that in the long run. Didn't know there was a tool like that out there for that kind of deal... Nice!

I have been running DCI and JB+ for over a week at default on a "post 29.2". I scanned yesterday with BT and I have no codes related to the JB+.

Good info. I bumped my JB+ up to about 75% last night. I plan on getting the BT in a couple of weeks and will scan for codes. I'm pre 29.2.

Not yet, I had to take it off because I was going in for service. I plan on doing that as soon as I get my car back.
