Driving Nightmare
I am not one to rant but after 4 years here, I've had it. Driving in and out of boston is truly a nightmare.
With the road conditions I feel like I don't have to be deployed to drive in a warzone. I feel like my car is falling apart now. But lately some of the drivers have annoyed the hell out of me. I'm screaming in my car out of frustration. Just this morning I was joyfully drive nice and calm, I spot a lovely black M6 behind me. I think oh nice a nice BMW owner he's a bit of a distance away i'm sure he doesn't mind I pass this slow guy in front of me. So I go ahead and properly go into the left lane to pass and this dick head decides he's going to RACE me to it just because I have a modded car, I want nothing to do with it. So he guns it as I'm merging and runs me out of the fucking lane, sandwiching me between another car. This guy almost crashed me... As he pulls up next to me to see inside my car, realizes I'm in uniform, slams on his brakes and makes a u turn to the other side of the road and jets. And just as bad the other day in Boston all sorts of cars just cutting off different vehicles in my convoy. My apologize for the rant but how could you not be frustrated my fellow Boston drivers... We're responsible enough to care about our cars and how we drive (well I hope).

My wife decided not to ride with me any more because she thinks that everyone is trying to crash into our car. She gets car sick from me dodging all the stupid pot holes and switching lanes to avoid those Massholes drivers. As for the M6 driver, I'm not surprised by his behavior. It just goes on to show how some people have small dicks and a sense of severe insecurity. Once they realized they picked the wrong target, they'll bolt and try to cut losses.

Its frustrating truly is.
Buying rims for the M? I just bought rims, decided its for the best especially after Boston has beat up my 162 rims.

Isn't it funny how everyone tries to race you when you have a supposedly high performance car. I recall one time.. my wife and I were driving to NY starting from Boston at like 4am.. wanted to get to the family and spend the whole day.
Some drunk douche in a supped up F350 was bombing down the pike doing 120. Kepted trying to have me race him in my Accord. I was half awake and going about 75 in the middle lane. I stopped for gas in the Westborough Service area... he pulls next to us .. not knowing my wife was there and challenges me to race him. I was like dude.. my wife is in the car and to be honest.. i could care less.. He was like.. i am a CT trooper so don't worry.. I just filled up and drove away.. What a tard! |

I don't blame this guy for running away with his tails caught between his leg, but he shouldn't have tried to pull that Fast and Furious move on Seth though.

Trying to trade the NEEZ (regular E92 offset) for a new set of Advan Racing RS (M3 offset) for all season or winter use.

Yea, I usually try to avoid driving in the city during traffic at all costs. Because of D-Bag drivers. And the battlefield of potholes / craters, etc. Glad my commute is restricted to Metro West. But hey, theres no shortage of idot drivers there either!

I agree it's shitty driving in and around Boston. My biggest complaint is the road conditions. The roads here in MA, especially this year, are absurdly terrible. It's so disheartening when I catch myself nervously staring at the road surface in front of me as I'm driving along, scoping for potholes, uneven pavement breaks manhole covers that are a good 4"-5" BELOW the road surface. I feel like I have yet to enjoy my car at all here in MA. I just can't find a road where I can just not think about potholes and just let her rip. Last summer, I tried some spirited driving on a winding empty road and ended up with a bubble in my RFT.
I can deal with the asshole drivers, but I sometimes ask myself why I even bother driving a BMW in MA when all I'm doing with it's superb handling is dodging potholes. I feel like I'm expected to be in some SUV with huge 75-series sidewall tires just plowing over any and all road hazards without a care in the world. |

Alex, I've gone through 2 RFTs in a bit over a year. Glad I got tire/rim protection.
Yes sir I was, I'm giving up the "active" EMT stuff, so 1 uniform left lol. I mean this guy could have seriously caused damage, like wtf was he thinking. I am thankful that I've been trained as an Emergency Vehicle operator. --- OT I just bought Breyton Race GTS (black). Waiting until May to put them on, we all know it snows in April still lol. Kev, we'll have to do another meet in porter square... one where I don't get rear ended. Oh yeah thats another thing folks, 3 months back on a way to a meet I was rear ended hit and run (only after I was on phone with PD). So you can imagine how pissed I am these days about driving around town.

OT: Kev, how happy are you with your upgrade?
Would you do it all over again if you could? Being back with the 335xi? Thanks, Dave
