quick v-35 question

Hey everybody,
I'm thinking about buying a v-35 hood from one of the guys on here. My question is the vents on the hood are open and I have the aFE dual cone intake. I'm wondering if there is an easy way to change the vent to being closed. Any help would be great, thanks ahead of time.

You really don't need to close the vent.. No amount of rain hitting your intake will harm your motor. It becomes an issue when the whole filter gets submerged in water.

dude, u're in socal! it doesn't rain THAT much to justify tryin to close up the vents. i hav DCI and the water doesn't play much of a factor wen it rains and hits it.

You can have a local bodyshop apply body filler to the underside but I wouldn't be too concerned about water getting on the intake. We have this setup on our 335 (V35 hood and aFe DCI) and drive it regularly in the rain here in Northern California.

While im in this thread, has anyone else noticed an accumulation of water in the drivers side shock mount? You might want to check. I noticed it this past week when I was just randomly cleaning the bay of leaves. I'd imagine that over time, the mount would corrode. I took a few towels and got the majority of the water out and covered the mounts on both sides (the other side wasn't nearly as bad) with tape.

You guys might want to go look and see if you're having the same issue.
