335 Stereo question

When I test drove the 335 the stereo sounded like hell. The HK system in my 330 isnt the best thing I have ever heard but sounded great in comparison to the Logic 7 in the 335. I didn’t mess with the stereo too much but so it could have just been in some funkey configuration or on a bad station.

Does anyone have an opinion on the quality of the stereo?

I didn't have the stereo on in my test drive, but the Logic 7 system has been praised as being a phenomenal stereo in both BMW and Land Rover. There must have been something wrong with that particular unit. BTW, were you listening to a disc or the radio? Using a radio broadcast to judge stereo quality is always a bad idea, as the quality of the signal is so variable. If you are really worried, take in a mixed disc with tracks you know sound good in your car or at home, and play them in the 335i to test it out.

Did you go to the settings and select Music? If not, the stereo might not be in Logic 7 mode. If there isn't a check mark in the "Music" box, then the stereo doesn't sound great.

It sounded really really bad. It was probably a setting or a bad station. If no one else has had a problem then it probably isnt a problem. I just figured I would ask around instead of running back to the dealership to hear it again.

It was off while I was driving I just turned it on after the test drive to see how it sounded. It sounded bad and the dealership was about to close so I didnt spend much time messing with it.

maybe the speakers in teh 335i were not 'cooked' yet

A radio station is hardly the best medium to test the logic7 system. It does sound a lot better with the music option turned on, and the EQ and treble and bass settings adjusted to one's liking.

doens't it need to be in either music or concert (or whatever it is called). Music isn't a surround sound mode is it?

i like the music setting instead of the theater setting it just sounds better in my personal opinion

the stereo is perfect... you just have to mess with the equalizers and stuff at first... because i felt the same way until i changed the settings.

and logic 7 rocks!

Just got my 335i - the stereo is awesome. I had the Marc Levinson in the Lexus I just traded ... it does not compare. You have something set up incorrectly.
