Threshold to ask for an oil cooler

I was running my car pretty hard this weekend and snapped a picture of my oil temp at 260F. I've never seen it go above 250F. Can I request an oil cooler retrofit or should I not even bother?

I was told by my dealer, the only way to get one is to through a fault code. I do remember some guys getting them in the beginning, but things have changed.

Good Luck !!!

With the drop in sales, they would not be so easily convinced to retrofit the oil cooler..

i usually get to about 240-250 under normal driving. so 260 isnt that bad. but it still doesnt mean i dont want the oil cooler

260 aint bad. i have read that the car will limp around 300.
but if you hit 260 in the winter... keep you eyes open in the summer
IF you really want to limp, take it to a decent circuit track. it will take only about 15 minutes or so.

worse comes to worse, if they do not retrofit you, check out the VK oil cooler.

That seems hot to me. Last Summer (90+ degrees/70% humidity) normal driving conditions with lots of traffic and the car NEVER rose above 240 degrees.

You have to bury the needle in your gauge and possibly go limp but not necessary.
