Bridgestone Turanza LS-Z (Non Runflat) are amazing!

To all who may care, I hated the Turanza EL42 RFT's on my 2006 330i (non sport).

They hydroplaned, lost traction on uneven roads, were extremely noisy, and transmitted every road imperfection into the cabin in a jarring, unsettling way. (I am talking road texture, not just potholes and seams!)

So I pleaded my case to BMW, they were awful. They did nothing and were rude!

I pleaded my case to Bridgestone (via my local dealer) and they were incredibly responsive! Turns out they have a 30 day money back guarantee on all their tires, and I called them at 900 miles and about 3 weeks of ownership, and they extended this policy to me.

So essentially, I was able to trade in my runflats for Turanza LS-Z non-runflats, same size (225 45 zr 17) for $150 total. This covered the difference in retail price, the 5% usage of the old tires, balancing, installation, etc.

Let me tell you, the LS-Z's are incredible. I can accelerate on broken pavement now without hopping and jarring. The car is quiet. No more interior rattles, and spine-jarring transmission from the runflats. Handling/cornering is equal. In short, the car is smooth and luxurious, and more of the sporty character can be enjoyed without harshness. Yes, I now am assuming more flat-risk, but I bought the BMW mobility kit and have roadside assistance, so I will take my chances.

It should be noted that I do most of my driving on city streets in San Francisco. Those who drive on smooth open roads might not notice as much of a difference.

Anyway, for those who might be unhappy with their run-flats, I had good luck with Bridgestone (as another e90 poster recommended -- I could not find the link again for a thank you). Just be patient, assertive, but nice. It took me 12 calls, 2 months, and 3 visits to the dealer (including letting the tire mgr drive my car). But in the end, I am super pleased at the new tires.

Thanks for the recommendation. I switched last week and love it. The LS-Z's are soft and quite, and still good on the corners. I have mine set at 32 in the front, and lovin the feel.
