Steve Dinan meet and great @ BMW of Austin on wed the 18th
This was posted by Bo Barnes, of BMW Austin, on BMWCCA austin chapter in regards to a meet and greet with Steve Dinan next wednesday. Just wanted to forward the 411 to all of you...
"I want to invite you to an event on Wednesday, February 18th, from 7-10pm, at the BMW of Austin dealership. Steve Dinan will be here speaking about current and new products and answering any questions you may have that I am not able to answer. We will also be offering a 10% discount on top of Dinan’s 15% rebate offer for all parts and software purchased that day. I really hope everyone can make it out for at least a little while. Please bring your Dinan modified cars out if you can. I would like to display as many as possible. Shoot me an email or call if you can make it out and let me know how many people you’ll be bringing. " Thanks, Bo Barnes BMW of Austin 512-343-3561 bbarnes@penskeautomotive.com

There's a Sonic, Schotzsky's, Whataburger, Cici's Pizza, McDonalds @ McNeil/Parmer if anyone is interested. We can meet at 6pm, give us a hour then hit up the dealer.

Steve was just at the BMW Houston North location the weekend prior for a meet and greet I believe. Unfortunately, I missed it. How was it? Interesting? What was talked about?

He mostly talked about the M5 accomplishments (bore and stroked to 5.7l: 628hp - 482 lbs-ft) with the V10 and rabbled on about stuff like the effects of exhaust scavenging, the hp benefits of vacuum pump (i.e neg crankcase pressure), etc gleaned from their grand-am investment.
http://www.dinancars.com/bmw/road-ra...ami-grand-prix Frankly, nothing radically new for concepts in the racing venue. He also over-viewed their honing process and QC as part of the overbore of the aluminum-silica content of the block. Interesting but not really relevant to the N54. I believe in the Q&A he said the new intake for 335 would be released soon. Within 3 months(?) He also made a remark that he fully expects to go to a piggyback solution in the future (not on this current platform) in lieu of a flash. The system complexities are eventually going to require too many resources/investment to produce a cost effective flash solution. |
