I am a big fan of Zymol but it takes far to long to apply !!
Do you apply by hand? , if so use a sponge applicator as far quicker and uses less.

I went to Halfords today...couldn't be bothered to wait for getting the swissvax or other brands delivered...bought some autoglym shampoo ....autoglym fast glass cleaner....and since it was raining...the autoglym aqua wax.....

spent a few hours washing the car in the rain!!!...and with only a bucket of water...which my gf was helping to fill the bucket...as i don't have a hose...very painful....and i used my bathroom towel....which i'm gona keep now to wash the car...

gona post some pic later on....

autoglym products aren't bad...but it was a bit dark, so couldn't really c if the wax was really shiny...but not lookin too bad for my first wax!

Before buying any cleaning products I would invest in.

2 buckets (with grit guards in bottom if possible)
1 Lambswool mitt
1 Large microfibre drying towel.

Chuck that fekking towel in the bin.

Yes a must to all the above if you want to keep those swirls marks at bay or at least reduced.

By God, don't go to Halfords to buy that stuff - they'll charge a fortune, and also the microfibre towels they have there aren't exactly the greatest!!

And yes, they're ESSENTIAL!!! Your bath towel may feel soft on you, but the fibres aren't designed to minimise scratching on delicate paint surfaces!!!

Try here for car wash products - www.carwashnwax.co.uk The Chemical Guys Citrus Wash n Gloss is a fantastic shampoo, the lambswool mitts are very paint friendly, and the wash bucket and grit guard combo purchase is a very good price. Also the 3pk jumbo microfibre towels are great value and work well (you'll probably need two packs)

ya i detail cars in california (the meca for car detailing) or you guys call it vallet service, i use only zymol products. if you buy the Zymol Concours Glaze ($175) and also use the zymol HD cleanse ($50) and zymol car soap ($40) and the zymol clay bay system ($50) and you follow the directions you will end up having one of the most pure and clean paint jobs in the city. the nice thing about zymol is that in the prosses there is no need to use a buffer. just buy some soft high quality microfiber towles and you are set.

good luck, if you need help or tips just PM me

I love zymol but they rip us off over here. The Concours over here will cost you around $300 so when you come over bring it all with you

I just go for the dirty & used look. Lots of brakedust and road grime.

Looks 'ard as nails.

It's free too, and requires no effort whatsoever.

another brand that is up there is P21S Carnauba Car Wax from germany, and then the english brand autoglym. they both make good products.

what i would do it use (non)-zymol soap, clay bar, and dont used the paint cleaner if you dont have a black car. and only clay bar and wash, and then use either zymol carbon or cream, here in the US its $45 and it lasts a long time between washes and looks very good.

that is what i do for my car. 70% of the time, then on show day or when the car is really dirty ill go all out.

great way to avoid swirl marks, dont let the dealer wash it, keep away from kosovan kar washes and let the car dry naturally after washing, if possible use rain water not tap water.

Got a bit bored to day and went for a drive to Halfords...since I don't have a tap outside my place, bought a Hozelock Portable Car Wash and Meguiars Tech wax 2.0 ...

Compared to the easy autoglym aqua wax, the Tech wax took a bit longer to apply and my arms were aching! but, I have to say that the quality was much better after, compared to the quick and easy aqua wax (which was ok, but not better than the Meguiars, however be prepared for the extra time and effort!!!)....

Guess it all depends how much effort you want to put in!
