CF trim interest?

Update 3/23: I'll be offering special pricing for the first three to set up appointments! PM me for details

I've done a number of interior CF trim wraps back home in the New England area but now that I'm back to school at UW-Madison, I'm extending my services over to our neck of the woods. Pricing is very competitive. PM me if interested or if you have any questions!

The dome lights are the bavauto 24leds and the rest of the bulbs I purchased from superbrightleds.com. The reason why the lights look so bright in the pic was that the pic was taken at night and the exposure setting was set high. They're brighter than stock, but they won't be blinding anyone!

I can also do this. I have the ability to do it in real cf but it takes much longer. The vynl is a good look though

Hey Nebster! I remember following your thread a while back when you were wrapping your trim. Did you ever put resin over the cf?

Wrapping with real cf is a great idea but it has a few drawbacks. First as you mentioned, is time. I'm a perfectionist by nature and lining up every strand of fiber to correspond to the correct angle and spacing would drive me mad. People say that slight imperfections are hard to notice but that's a non-issue for me. If I know it's not done right, I'm not going to like it.

The other issues tend to be with cleaning and overall look. Cleaning real carbon fiber is difficult and requires special care and cleaning products to not fray the carbon fiber or allow the cf fabric to snag on the threads of a mf towel. With vinyl, it's waterproof and is very easily cleaned- wipe on, wipe off. The look may be subjective but the main reason why I went with the cf vinyl fabric is the look-it mimics the m3 leather very closely. Real cf tends to be too bright for inside the cabin and for me, is a distraction. I like the matted look of the cf fabric a lot better and feels it flows much better.

Sorry for the lengthy read but after reading your thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=197746 I was tempted to wrap my own trim in cf fabric and have done a lot of research into the topic- I even bought a sample of real cf to test it out. In the end, I opted not to for the above reasons and couldn't be happier!
