HELP...Hub Ring is stuck...I'm F#$%ed

I got another nail in my tire and was taking my wheel off....got the rim out, but the hub center ring is stuck to the hub...HELP

Just use a screwdriver to pry it loose. Check my "No more rusty hub DIY" to prevent these types of things from happening.

take a log as in a piece of wood and knock it off. Seriously.

It will work put a towel over the wheel to make sure there is no scrap and take a log and hit the edge of the wheel with it and it will fall off. What has happened is the wheel has rusted together with the mount.

Dont be afraid to give it a strong hit into it.

I think his situation is a little different.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he already removed his aftermarket wheel, and the hub centric ring (small plastic ring located between the wheel and the hub) is stuck.

If the ring is plastic, just take a chisel and break it off (purchase a replacement later).

If the ring is metal, try spraying a lot of WD40 over it, lete it sit for about 10 minutes, then use excessive force to pry it off. Continue this step if again if you have no success. The ring most likely expanded from heat.

the ring won't come off so I just fix the flat myself and put the rim back on....but I still want to get the ring out someday

ring is metal....I got a can of "PB" or should I use WD-40 instead????

nah..just center rings for the OZ rims

^^ ummmm.... not a good idea if you value your wheel.
If you wack it in the wrong place you'll easilly bend the rim.

If you have a badly stuck wheel that kicking the tire won't break free....

Put the bolts back in then loosen one half turn.
Lower the car down onto the wheel again, then roll the car a bit.
The wheel will pop & no damage done by hitting the wheel.

BTW..
use a little anti seize on the wheel hub & it won't get stuck in the first place.

once you get it off go out and by some anitseize grease and use that. its either a copper or aluminum paste you put on the hub first.

You can always try a rubber mallet to get it off to, and screwdrivers

If this happens to anyone in the future.....do not try to pry it off, you'll just scratch-up the ring and'll prbly need a new one. Spray WD-40 around the ring and put the rim back on, drive it around for 5 minutes, and the thing will slip right off.
