Alloy Advice

Morning guys

i've been offer a new set of alloys for my e90 318D SE but i can seem to find the right place to find out if they'll fit.

I tried to us the wheel guide on the forum but have to say i don't really understand.

Here are the spec's for the new wheels

THE FRONTS ARE 8JX18 WITH 245/45/18

THE REARS ARE 9JX18 WITH 275/40/18

THEY ARE 5 STUD WITH DIAM OF 120 and they came of a 645CI

many thanks in advance

Robbie

It is extremely unlikely these wheels will fit your car - you need to find out what offset (ET value) these wheels have (it should be different front and rear). Also, the tyre sizes are a bit too wide for the width of the wheel - an 8J wheel should use either a 225 or 235 section tyre, and a 9J either a 255 or 265 section tyre...

Just to put the knife totally into these wheels, the profile seems a bit high for the the width and the difference in the overall diameter of your wheel/tyre combination may be sufficiently different to your existing wheel/tyre combo, that the speedo and mileometer readings will be unacceptably inaccurate.

cant help with the rims but look up tyre calculator on google and there are sites where you can compare the tyre sizes to get an exact match to the originals kouki tech is the best one.

Or use the one on this forum!!

http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12

This will work out how differing offsets, etc will change the placement of the wheels in the arches.

The 6 series wheels will defo not fit a 3 series as the offsets are all wrong. All of the M6 rims that you see on 3 series are replica's built to fit a 3 series. The 650 wheels must be pretty similar to M6 rims so won't go on.

Have you looked at E90/E91 alloys in 18". These will fit.

18" specs are..

Front - 8" x 18". 225/40/18 ET 34
Rear - 8.5" x 18". 255/35/18 ET 37

You can pop a 9" x 18" on the rear and use the same size tyres. Would prob want to drop the ET a bit to compensate for the extra with but only by a few mm.
