Clear Bra?

Hey Guys,

So I just bought a CPO 328i, and I noticed the car already has some rock chips on the headlights but I want to prevent future ones, can you guys describe (LINKS WOULD BE HELPFUL) what a clear bra is?

Is there a DIY for this?

Where can I buy a clear bra for a 328i?

Muchas Gracias!

I'd highly recommend you find some professional installers as they are not exactly meant for DIY if you want proper installation with no bubbles.

I have them installed on my daily driver, 3M, front hood/bumper/side panel/mirrors for just over $1000.

installed 2 years ago and love it and it makes a great difference in terms of rock chip protection.

But I dont have it on my e92, since i have the "Stay-nu" package from the dealer that would cover my rock chips and misc scratchs/dents.

I've never heard of the "stay-nu" package? Anyways, a clear bra is a thin plastic/rubber film that goes over either your headlights/fenders/hood etc. Its kinda like how the thin plastic film that protects the ipod screen. I bought my headlight clearbra from www.bavauto.com. And hood/fender/bumper clearbra from getbmwparts.com. Thats if u are willing to install the clearbra yourself. Definitely save yourself some money.

I would highly suggest using a Prof Clear Bra company for installation. I own a clear bra company (Auto Armour, hence my user name). I have yet to see a person be able to install one themselves. I'm not saying its not possible but you will be much happier with the results given a good installer. There are a lot of bad installers out there so be sure to do your research before paying a guy to do it. Ventureshield is by far the best film out on the market. It is the most optically clear and has the least amount of orange peel. Not to mention a limited LIFETIME warrenty. PM me if you have any questions.

There is no way you're going to be able to install it yourself.

I have a local guy who was gonna install a 3M clear bra for me but now he says they switched to Durashield. He says it's better and costs more but was willing to keep my previously quoted price for the the 3M. Anyone heard of Durashield? Thanks for any help in advance!

Do most clear bra installers cover the painted reflectors when as part of the front bumper install? One of the painted reflectors from my car already started to come off a bit from the bumper. I'm currently cleaning up the reflector and reinstalling 3M tape. I'm concern that once the clear bra is installed, the reflector might get lose again.

$1000 is steep, but worth it I guess.
