Press the "printScrn" button. That will copy the screen into the Clipboard.

Then open up any programme and PASTE it, then save. It will work in MS Paint (free) and also Word etc.

Ideally if it is an image you would want to edit it with image editing software - Photoshop.

You can also just save an image from a website by right mouse clicking on the image and selecting "save as .."

If you hit ALT and PRINTSCREEN together, it will only copy the active window instead of the whole screen. Then you can paste it in MS Paint and save as JPG or GIF.

If you have time, I would look around for a program called Snagit. The program costs about $40, but it has been floating around on sites like BitTorrent. Not that I condone that.

Carl, sit looking at this thread and press the Print Screen button (might be called "prt Sc" or something like that. It will be somewhere near the top line of keys to the right side of your keyboard.

Then, start Excel (I know you have it) go to "Edit" and click on "Paste". The entire forum page will now appear on your screen, within Excel. You can re-size the "picture" and crop it and use the drawing tool to put marks on it - but that's about it.

If it doesn't work, you ain't hitting the right key. Are you using a laptop or a standard keyboard?
