red angel eyes / german law
so im not sure where this post should go. but i am a newbie, (get the car this week). i am very interested in putting better angel eyes into it soon. ive seen red angel eyes and therefore my first question is, in germany are these illegal? i cant find any information on exterior lighting laws. and if they are illegal, is there a way to turn angle eyes off when driving and have them more for show while parked?

for the US they would be illegal, as law enforcement/emergency vehicles are usually the only ones with red lights in the front. As for during them off while driving the only time they can be disabled is to disable your DRL(daytime running lights). but I think once you turn on your low beams they should appear again as parking lights.

^Yeah, once your xenon's come on, the angel eyes come back on, but honestly, at night, it's projecting xenons--in the US, I don't think any government vehicles have xenon projectors. Plus, the xenons overpower aftermarket angel eyes pretty well IMO.

right, i knew in the states emergency vehicles use red and thats why it is illegal, but over here, ive never seen the polizie lights (thank god) and dont know if they use red or not. and i still cant find any info about that kind of law. i was thinking the headlights would overpower them enough to make them almost not visible anyway, i was just hoping someone could shed some light on the subject for me as i think red angel eyes would look amazing

Where have you been able to find red bulbs to use for your angel eyes? I recall some members here tried getting some but didn't have much luck doing so.

as far as I know it's illegal to have any form of red lights in the front of the car.....
And that applies to every country in EU......Trust me you will get pulled over as soon as you install them..... |

You could also consider how few Police you actually see around. I am pretty sure I have never seen and police after night....plenty of cameras, but no one to pull you over.
