PDC Switch

Does anyone know if I can get an OEM PDC switch only and if so, how much do they cost? Does anyone have a part no? Dealer quoted me £175 + VAT but seems like that is it the wrong part no all together. Part no he quoted is: 61319181181.

I am trying to get an after market PDC fitted to the front of the car and wanted to get the factory fitted switch. Is this possible?

The PDC switch (and this also applies to the heated seats, rear blind, etc...) is only a momentary push switch, with an LED indicator. It's connected to the air-con controls via a ribbon cable.

I doubt you'll be able to use the OEM switch, for a 3rd party PDC system.

That's correct - you can get the PDC switch, it comes in a complete switch assembly module that replaces the existing blanking plate (or switch panel if you have certain options like heated seats). However, it is logic controlled via the control module which regulates the aircon unit and as Biscuits has said, it's just a momentary push switch which flips a logic gate. You won't be able to use it to control a separate aftermarket PDC system.

However, most aftermarket rear PDC systems take their power feed off the reversing lights, so auto switch on when the car is put into reverse...

+1 I took mine apart (not too difficult). You can get the non functional buttons to function by cutting the legs off. However these are just inputs to the CAN bus system. With some work you could transfer the push button action to an mechanical switch mounted / super-glued to the back of this unit. Forget soldering something to the actual switch contacts..
I only tried this (cutting the four legs on one push button). Switch will have the original OE feel, and to my knowledge will not generate a fault code. I take the ECU simply doesn't see the switch input
