A question for Septro or anyone that knows, does the limp slow you down at all? What would it be on a production map that didn't throw a limp?

With 6MT, you have to shift real quick with full throttle lifts between gears. 6AT have such a big advantage over us in this area. And once you can consistently pull off 110-111mph traps, then just work on your 60' times which need to drop by 0.3-0.4sec.

If you want to go faster with no more work, just run race gas instead of 92oct. You're really handicapping yourself with pump gas. Especially after all the heat that builds up when waiting in the line and launching from a dead stop.

Strepto-- What limps/codes were you throwing during your runs?

Looks like he was bumping up against the upper JB3 DC limit on beta_8C map 8, which is set conservatively. That map is intended for those with downpipes, IC, and intake. Still ran ~.2ths off the worlds quickest Xi times, not too bad for your first time at a track.

I caught the limps right at the very end of each run. With the two lines at the end of the quarter mile used to measure trap speed - I caught the limp right at the first time. Highest I trapped was 111 but felt I could've got at least another 1mph.

I'll be back with DPs for sure next run and whenever the HElix IC ships, back to trying Map8. I did not limp on Map7 when I switched down to it.

Yea - The 6MT guys really do have to work their asses off to not only get the launch right, but stroke those gears well throughout the run all the while not losing traction.

But the my runs are more a testament to BMW's good 6AT and AWD rather than my experience (or more appropriately, lack thereof) at the track. I gots no shame in admitting that.

You're telling me! I wanted to go home after I got the timeslip for the 14 sec run, especially when I also lost to the RSX on my left.

Lol how do you think the regular vette felt when that 10s Civic blew its doors down? One thing I realized this weekend is that no matter what you got, there's always someone faster.
