How often can I light-polish

I was wondering how often I can polish the car (light) before "running out of clear coat". Once a year for how many years?

Once/year = you can do it for more years than you'll own the car.

Longer then you will have the car. Before I knew better (as in the car didn't need it) I polished my car once a week for almost three years. It was a show car I had and I thought I needed to polish it all the time. When I sold the car the clear coat was still in good shape.
