Hi All,

I want to keep the single pipe each side config for my 335d just want them chromed and bigger , What tips should I go for and where can I get them from ? and finally are they easy to fit ?

Tried that - couldn't find anything other than full replacement exhausts which I don't want - can you not help ?

yes Dimisa do them. pricey tho.

otherwise you can get ones from Cyba. Single piece stainless steel in chrome, black chrome or brushed aluminium. Around £70 to £80 delivered to the UK Also made directly for 335i so less work for the fitters and much neater i believe.

I think the Cyba one's are inferior quality wise? Aren't they the ones that the guy (uk) on here found awkward to fit and then had them rusting? The Dimisa one's are top quality and what the car deserves...choices, choices...

One of the guys here had the Ti tips and had multiple layers of metal cos you cant weld to titanium. the tips were then riveted to it? they were off the shelf jobs..universal fitment i believe. the ones i posted above are single piece jsut like Dimisa apparently

Thanks guys, I like the look of the Dimisa tips, is there a forum friendly place to order them from ? (I am based in the South East btw) Finally what is invloved in fitting these tips ? Are we talking cutting and re-welding type stuff ?

Have just bought some Tips for the 335d and would like to ask members if they know of any decent places to get them fitted in the South East.

I dont trust the minmum wage monkies with this type of work in my area lol !

Call the guys at Birds - 01753 657444 - ask to speak to Pinder and tell him that you've got his details from me, Tony. I am pretty sure they can do it, as they have a MIG welder on site and did a load of welding on my exhaust when moving the lambda probes etc... They're based in Uxbridge, so straight up the A30...

And they are better than top-notch guys, although they won't necessarily be the cheapest people around (about £75 per hour labour i think)

Was me! Cyba tips are 335i and need an oversize sleeve/tube making to cover and join the tubes together.

As for the rusting it is because the photos show up every slight mark and don't all exhausts rust away eventually anyway?

All you can see is the very end of the tips and it will take couple of hours to fit properly as the hardest part of the fit is to get both tips equidistant from the bodywork.

I think they are excellent quality, well made. I would go for the plain if I had them again as the blue is a bit chav IMO

Thanks for the info, yes they can do it but have not done this work before, they also think it will be about 3 hours work which equates to over £220 which I think is steep imo.

Does the exhaust need to come off in order to add the tips ?

Was not expecting to pay this much, maybe I should of just bought a backbox and be done with it ?!?!?!

Surely this can be done cheaper ?

No, I don't think it will take three hours to do - and I can understand why they haven't done it before as most people buy whole exhaust systems from them!! Pinder has a tendancy to overquote for time needed, so that the bill will eventually end up smaller than quoted. It is better that way, than for you to go in thinking it will take half an hour, when it then ends up as two!!

The exhaust does need to come off to add the tips, as you need to weld all the way around the top as well. As the exhaust is one piece from the downpipes back to the tailpipes, it takes about ten to fifteen minutes to drop the exhaust. The welding will probably take around 30-40 minutes for a really good job, then everything goes back up.... an hour to an hour and a half, tops...

And yes, if it is £220, you should buy a backbox instead!!!
