Really Bad Creaking Noise From Windows After Applying Turtle Wax Liquid Ice

I couple of weeks ago I thought I would trying Turtle Wax Liquid Ice on my black '05 E90 320d.

After I had applied it and buffed it off I stood back to admire how shiney it was looking. Then then wife went to the shops in it, came back and said what have you done to the car? It sounds really bad. I got in and she drove off and my god what's is that. There was really bad creaking noises coming from all around. After a little bit of trial and error I found that if all the windows were down the creaking noise stopped. It's also worse when it's cold outside. So I've concluded that although it says on the bottle this liquid ice can be applied to all rubbers, seals, plastics, etc it obviously can't.

Has anyone else experienced this and even more importantly how on earth do I rectify it. I've washed the car twice now and it's still creaking away. Should I get lubricant from BMW dealership to apply to the rubbers round the windows?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

Basically the rubber seals have dried out completely and have lost all their suppleness. It's a major problem with BMWs, especially on the 1 series. What you need to do is get some of the BMW seal restorer (which most dealers should have) or use something like Swissvax Seal Feed which although expensive, is a marvel to use (click here for Seal Feed)

This was also a major problem on the early e60's any silicone based wax on the door seals would make them creak terribly.

Liquid ice is silicone based so definitely a problem:

I found that a wipe down with WD40 and a soft cloth dealt with it on mine

Main thing then was to avoid anything with silicone in it.
