tell them to fix it and pressure test it or maybe let the buyer fix it for £70 least he knows the patch will be fine

There is no law against this. I have Bridgestones on my car and the Bridgestone RFT website states that they can be repaired.

Only going on what they said, I think it's abit of a gray area for these tyre places! He did mention some BSI no.??!

But they still repaired it.. Once they looked at the tyre it seemed fine for a repair!.

I think they were going to sell mine as I went to pick up the tyre and it had already been repaired!

He should be quoting a British Standard (BS) specifically BS AU159

Some info on the standard here:

He should be looking for damage as a result of running the tyre flat, but this won't be an issue with a slow puncture.

Bridgestone confirm RFT's can be repaired here:

But leave it at the discretion of the repairer.

Good info.

They did say that the only way to check if the runflat had been damaged was to x-ray the tyre, but they didn't have this equipment! I did say if they take it off I could walk it round to A&E!!

He was talking bollocks. Tyre fitters don't x-ray normal tyres before carrying out a repair do they?

In your earlier post you said that the pressure didn't drop below 27psi, so you didn't drive on the tyre flat and can't have damaged it.

I assume a x-ray was to see if the 'run-flat' part had been damaged! But agreed bollocks, it was all getting a little crazy when they started saying that! And yet didn't go below 27psi, but he would be taking my word for it! etc.
