WARNING LIGHT AGAIN advice please!!! Screenwash...
Got a warning light today....its the screen washer liquid which might be running low...
Was wondering if I could use the Halfords one to refill? or Should I go buy one from the BMW dealer? Halfords is about 10mins drive from where I live... What do you guys use? |

Standard Halford - was on a two for one winter deal, so got 15 litres for the price of 10. Sort of realised afterwards that one litre of concentrate makes 5 litres of mix, so it will last a little while!

Funny cos if ya headlamp washer screws up say you only use approved BMW screen wash as then they can lay the blame on a other supplier in the event of a warranty claim.

I wouldn't advise using anything but the BMW screenwash or plain water, I know from personal experience. There is a very fine filter on the washer pump and for some reason other washer fluids turn to a gungy gel which blocks it. The cost of the part is probably about a pound but it will cost about £150 to fix it or a 2 hour DIY job. I had to remove my offside front wheel, all of the inner wing shields (4 in total) before being finally being able to get the washer bottle out and remove the pump. Not something I want to repeat.
