does your car have premium package or bluetooth? see if you have an SOS button on the overhead console.

What difference does that make?

Welcome, and congrats!!

While it may seem like Blue2fire is being cold, the reality is you're better off reading your manual, than having someone who has no idea what their talking about try to lead you

I mean why would you not want to get the information 'from the horse's own mouth?'??

ZPP bundles bluetooth and BMW assist.

bluetooth standalone is also bundled with BMW assist.

BMW assist has an SOS button on the overhead console.

no BMW assist means car doesnt have bluetooth

car doesnt have bluetooth means cannot connect iPhone 3G (or any other phone).

so having an SOS button or not makes a lot of difference as to whether one can connect his or her phone to the car.

You seem to misinterpret my question.

We already know his car has Bluetooth, why else would he have a phone button on the Steering wheel?

I don't know but asking a guy if he has bluetooth when he is asking you the same question isn't exactly very bright.

Thanks

i connect my SE G705 with hands-free cable via the AUX. it channels music and calls into the car speakers which allows me to answer in the cabin hands-free, pretty much like bluetooth.

so i now play mp3 music from my phone, the phone switch to answer incoming calls automatically...and resume mp3 after the call.

for iphone, i think you can connect the 2.5mm headphone jack directly to the Aux-In under your handrest, that should work too.

So the easy way to check if the car has bluetooth is to check the radio. Hit the menu button on the right side of the CD slot. If it has an option for "Phone" then the car has bluetooth. If the car has bluetooth then the manual for radio will tell you how to get the radio to search for the phone. The phone should have a manual that tells you how the get the phone to search for the radio. Once they establish a connection you then need to enter the code for the car to sync to the phone.

There is section of this Forum just for the Audio. i'd suggest searching there and RFTM
