Anyone interested in attending this 8 hour driving tour this Saturday:

Twin Peaks Tour

April 11 - A full day of mountain roads and Bimmer camaraderie as we drive Mt. Hamilton and Mt. Diablo. A tour of the old telescope, lunch in Clayton and other treats are in store for you in the fourth annual installment of this tour.

We'll start at the The Coffee Cup at 3477 McKee Road, San Jose (same strip mall as Long's Drug, cross street is Kirk Ave). Then we'll make our way up and over Mt. Hamilton, through the Livermore valley, across the eastern slopes of Mt. Diablo and stop for lunch in quaint Clayton. From there we'll follow a winding route back to San Jose. Driver's meeting is at 8:45 am, departure time from the parking lot is 9:00 am, so make sure to arrive by 8:30 am so you have time to sign the waiver, get caffeinated, and be ready to attend the driver's meeting alert and perky.

This drive is a bit more than 200 miles in length. Since we'll be stopping in a number of the parks along the way, plan on a full day of adventure. There will be opportunities to cut the route short, if you are pressed for time.

Note that we won't be stopping for lunch until nearly 2 pm, so it would be a good plan to pack some snacks (which could be a ham and cheese croissant from The Coffee Cup, hint, hint. They're good).
