speed chime

Apologies in advance if this is in the manual or has already been posted.

Question is whether there is a way to make the car sound a chime when a certain speed is reached. If so, how do you do this? This is for a car without I-drive.

think this is an idrive only thing... i had a non idrive e90 328 before and it didnt chime.

it chimes when you max it out doesnt it (ie hit the speed limiter)? or was that my car going into limp mode LOL

I got up to 225 on a track and no chime!!

My car has it, you can turn it on and off in one of the screens in the i-drive. Not sure if non i-drive cars have it. You can set what speed you want it to chime at. I have mine set 140 km, when I hit it it chimes and a warning appears in the i-drive screen. You can also turn it on and off on the idrive screen.

My car (non i-drive) has no chime either, all the way up to the limiter (around 230)...

You can set it probably only on cars with iDrive.

I don't have iDrive but do have Nav on my MCoupé and there is that feature in settings... but wait... what am I doing here in e90post?

I don't remember exactly but I think it's in the navigation tab, there's also a stopwatch function in the same tab as the speed alarm.

I'm sorry I have the latest gen I-drive; don't know how to get to it on the previous gen. On the new I-drive it is simply the main menu/vehicle settings.
