$3,500 mistake
hey guys,
i have put alot of mods in my car, but the worst one was also my most expensive one: my jline rims SUCK and i hate them - my friend wants to buy them. there are a multitude of things i do not like about them, but i will only touch on one point here: the offset is wrong. i cannot run any wider width without rubbing than the stock 255 width. i am taking a large loss on these wheels, but will buy ANOTHER set of after market wheels to fix the jline offset (and the other problems also): 1/ what is the ideal offset to run slightly wider widths like 265 or 275 in the rears and 235 or 245s in the front ? 2/ i want a lightweight 18¨rim that is strong, but do not want to pay an astronomical price. lots of potholes here and the jline rims keep bending (and i keep fixing them) after even medium speed hits. how are OZ? any other suggestions ? thanks

i do not know the stock offset, therefore hard to calculate the new offset needed for larger tires.
but my original bmw wheels had rim sizes: 8J x 17 and 8.5 J x 17 tire sizes: 225 x 45 x 17 and 255 x 40 x 17. i want to go 18¨ but do not want the same offset problem i had with my 18¨jline rims. thanks

i have an e93 and no spare tire - i cannot afford running around with a slightly bent rim and a slow air leak. also, what tire sizes do you have and what is your offset. lastly, approx what price did you pay? thanks no time to search thoroughly cause i am leaving from south america for NY NY tomorrow BUT: read that the following are light and STRONG: approx how much would i be spending for (forged one piece 18 inch) HRE competition or bbs ?? as you know i am basically looking for nice looking lightweight strong 18 inch rims. need to decide whether to sell my shit Jline rims right now. thanks

I've always wondered about how sturdy OZs are. The Ultraleggeras were on my list, but a cast wheel that's THAT light scared me a bit.
However, I know a lot of people running them that never had anything bad to say.

I have been lusting after BBS LM's in 18's. I don't really like the center caps. What do you guys think of these on a silver 335i????

IMHO OZ's are a very good wheel. The HLT wheels will be a bit stronger than standard cast wheels. Enkei also has a similar process for manufacturing their wheels.
I went with 18" as well due to the poor roads here in PA. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics have a rim protector. This is an added safety measure that I thought was great. The tire is fantastic too. Great in the wet, street and track. Maybe something else to consider when you're thinking about changing wheels is the tires.

so what was the wheel you bought, what were the specs?
can't you modify the fender a bit to make it fit?
