Yellow Brakes

I just finished washing my car today, and when i was cleaning the wheels, i noticed the brakes turning bronze....like...it was rusting or something

i've had this happened to my previous cars, but now i'm a little curious in why it's happening...

is it becuase of the water that got on the brakes while i was cleaning the wheels, and the brakes were still hot?

anyways, any solutions?

Brake rotors are made of steel, steel + water = rust. Don't worry about it, as soon as you drive the car and apply the brakes, the rust color will be gone, as the rotors are squeezed by the pads.

if your worried about it just take your car for a drive around the block and when you pull the car back in the driveway the rust is gone.

Yup, that's what I do. And do avoid spraying water onto the brakes after driving. Doing this may warp the brake discs.

And in the meantime you get a fresh coat of brake dust on those squeaky clean wheels, you just can't win
