Hey guys, my gf and I are so close to getting a dog. We just cant seem to find the ones we want. We are on a few waiting lists but figured this couldn't hurt. We are located in CT, willing to drive depending on how far (I don't wanna drive 5+ hours). Does anyone know anyone with these kinds of puppies?

if you don't mind me asking, why would you go for a "hybrid"? you getting a mut. I know its a big thing now, i just don't understand why people do it. You are either getting the best of both worlds or the worst of both worlds. For example boxer usually have problem with their skin and breathing. Labs usually have problems with shedding and heart.

So you would now have a puppy who sheds a lot, with skin problems and a possibly breathing problems/ or heart.

Again this is just a possibility. But i just don't understand the mut craze right now.

Well I am not as big of a dog person as my g/f but she had purebred animals and they are very prone to sickness. We are hoping that the positives of both animals will be our combination not the negatives!!!

Boxers are prone to cancer, so i would recommend working with a breeder that knows their bloodlines.

I always had boxers, right now I have a 2yrd old female, she is my 3rd boxer so far, the first one passed away with cancer, and the second one had breathing problems. This last one is the only one so far that hasn't showed any signs of sickness.Thank god i love my Roxy.

Got my first boxer when I was 4yrs old, and i had them ever since. So don't tell me they don't have those problems.

I have had boxers my whole life and have bred them as well. Boxers CAN have problems with their skin and their breathing as ANY pure bread dog can....

Specific health problems for Boxers include a little more than "skin and breathing" problems. They are:


Aortic Stenosis ,Bloat, Cancerous Tumors,
Dilated Cardiomyopathy,
Corneal Ulcers,
Hip Dysplasia, Histiocytoma,
Histiocytic Ulcerrative Colitis,
Intestinal Worms, Pyloric Stenosis, and Deafness. If the OP needs any help with any of this please ask me.

That dog doesn't look like he has any boxer in him, but congrats nonetheless.

I have a 7 month old Boxer/Pit Bull and I love him. Lots of energy and a great guard dog.
