Got mine valued for 20k over the weekend and i got only 15k miles after 18 months. Its a 325m sport with all the trimmings... but no sat nav though.

Dealer offered 5k more as kind of discount if i bought a new car.
In short, the used car taken back for 25k and the new one full price.....

I am on PCP (I think...) and got 18 months more to go, so will keep my car as anyway I still got 18 months left on the 3 year warranty.

My stealer told me that they were getting good offers at the moment if you buy a new in stock as BM want to shift the current stock.

Just my input on the thread anyway

Which dealer was this was it a Glasgow one, due to your sig profile.

What was the 5k off, drive the deal have some good deals at the moment.

Think BMW are throwing an extra grand in for a stock car.

£5000 in eight months? They don't seem too desperate to me if that's what they're offering. Desperation means they'd pay more.

£16.5k Get the F*uck out of here!

£38k car drops £21.5k in 18 months

It's lowish offer.

I think because the lack of nav and leather might make it difficult for the dealer to sell.

Mileage also destroys the value in these cars, which is madness because they can easily do several hundred thousand miles.

This is from Glasses Guide.

Average trade in should be £17,300, but retail is £22,250

You need to reckon on at least £1k a month depreciation in these cars over the first year. This is mainly BMW's fault as a result of discounting. You can get a £7k discount now on a new 335d, so comparison to the list price is pretty much meaningless.

If you think that's bad....

[QUOTE=R4R;4953107]ERR yes!

no pressure to sell, just had a good idea about changing it out for an E70 X5 then i could sell my X5 and have one car less in the fleet.

Wait until you see the depreciation on an X5

Hi

HF in Irvine

The deal was that the stealer would take my car back for 20k plus 5k so effectively 25k for the car but nothing on the new one...

Not sure about the stock car rebate, although when I went there and mentioned the Highline serie he did not know about it either...

Arnold Clark then, Iv'e asked them a few times about cars but they dont seem to keen on doing deals, most the time they dont even call you back.

They always try and bump the part x up but then try and charge full whack for the car they are selling.

You should try Dougie Parks (glasgow) that is my favoured BMW dealer they are usually will to try and do a deal.

If it was an Audi then dont even go there Glasgow Audi is the worst dealership in history, i hope they would have changed when it went from Lomond to the big dealership but no they just got worse.

I had a quote from a BMW dealer's buyer last week (not a trade in, straight sale back) and was quoted £19,500 over the phone. I have a 335dSE Oct 2006, 28,000 miles on and most of the extras you can get. (Leather, lumbar, Logic 7, sunroof, Nav Bluetooth, DAB, TV. heated seats, 19" 230s etc) This would get me out of the finance with £2000 spare.

When I was ringing around some dealers (my local dealers are total idiots so I only use them for servicing) were not looking for stock, others were after anything they can get their hands on and will pay accordingly. Forecout prices seem to be 23-27K so they will expect a tidy profit.

Any idea what it could be worth in a private sale?

21k maybe not sure just a figure worked from your numbers.

As you say about profit they will want 3-4k in a car, maybe a little less if they are also selling you another car.

Whilst I'd have loved to buy my car brand new I'm so glad I didn't besides the 15% hit on VAT as soon as you drive away that first year is such a killer on depreciation!

Over the next year or so as no-one is buying new 2nd hand values should in theory start to increase might be worth hanging on 6 months and trying again, obviously the mileage will increase but the repayments should too!
