Oil level sensor screwy, BMW wants to load 32.1, I refused

My oil sensor said I needed a quart. I was close to the dealer so I dropped in. They started the car and said all is well, no oil needed. I had no way of knowing whether the low reading or the normal reading was correct. BMW guys said it may be a sensor fluke but they can flash it to correct the issue.

I have 23.2 and they want to flash 32.1. I fear the lag so I elected to take a wait and see approach. If it happens again, I'll have to have the flash.

Can anyone try to quantify the lag feel with 32.1 vs pre 29.2? If it is marginal, I may consider the flash.

I know this has been addressed but I am looking for opinions from those who went from pre 29.2 to 32.1.

Thanks.

32.1 is no more. The new software is Ista/p 2.33.0. Just as for the lag fix if they're going to update it.

I thought there was a newer version but my paperwork clearly states version 32.1. Is it possible that all dealerships don't have 33.x yet?

The service guys were a bit shocked that I knew so much about the car (thanks E90post!). They said that the lag is barely noticeable on 32.1 but my SA correctly interpreted that I might be more sensitive to changes with my car than their average BMW owner so they left it up to me to decide.

They are also trying to tell me that many people go 20k miles between oil changes. I don't buy it though.

did you change the oil or the dealer do it? because after the dealer changed my oil the last time i would get the oil pressure light indicator every now and then and the level would fluctuate between low and ok. i figured they didn't put the right around of oil...i changed the oil myself and put 7quarts as the manual says...light has not come back since. if i put in 6 the light will still haunt me. hope this helps.
