to do so, you need to replace the radio area, entire dash, support frame below it. Its quite a job (ive looked into it in detail)

all the time and money that you spend on this retrofit would not be worth it...IMO just trade in your car for one w/ Nav if you want it that bad

Seriously, the cost of this misguided project would be off the charts. If you're really intent on glorifying your driving experience with iDrive, you'd be best off selling/trading the car and buying one equipped from the factory.
