Is the e90 pre wired for an amp?

Hi guys,

I have an E90 323i, and I dont think it comes with an amp. Do you guys know if the car is alrerady pre-wired for the OEM amp, or also for an after market amp.

Thanks

It has an amp. In the trunk. Every speaker wire in your car meets at that amp in the trunk.

For US-spec cars. I am not familiar with CAN cars. Some EU cars have deck power to the 4 door speaks and an amp only for the underseat woofs. There might be a low end system lacking the underseat woofs.

Easiest way to check with a sedan is to go to the trunk, to the driver's rear corner, and pop the plastic cover out of the floor. There will probably be an amp under it. Post a pic of what you find.

amp

There is no amp in the Canadian 323i, it comes with the professional radio, and the subs and 4 speakers are hooked to the radio.

I will take a picture and show you guys what I have in the trunck....

The subs aren't powered by the radio in any of the systems, I don't think. I know that there are non-US systems with the speakers in the 4 doors powered by the HU, and the subs powered by a small dedicated amp...

Yes, they are powered by the OEM HU in the Stereo system (non-HiFi) in the 3-Series. The 5-Series is the one that the Stereo system powers the 4" drivers and a small amp powers the woofers.
