Anthony at Speed Religion did mine a few months ago as I was fed up with a juddering clutch. There is an improvement but still have a judder but thats now down to me now and not the CDV. I prefer it without the CDV.

Clutch Delay Valve allows full flow of fluid to depress the clutch but restricts the flow to release the clutch. BMW feel that if you release the clutch too soon you could damage the drive train and would rather screw up the clutch with slippage than spinning the rear wheels.

Anthony modifies/removes this valves internals and replaces the valve housing back on the car. From the outside you would not know a modification has been made. You now have full control of the clutch with your left foot. I think I paid around £35 - 40 for this.

So would it be more noticeable on a spirited start than a gentle potter?

I suppose it makes sense to do it but takes the control away from the driver?

Ive driven a few manuals with this CDV, man it slows down shift times majorly. CDV= Wank.

I have the CDV deleted...I cant rememeber to have such a big difference since then (maybe its too long ??).

The fact is that i still have this lag/hesitation while upshifting really quick.

I agree with Panoz. makes very little difference the CDV modded. need to couple it with a SSK then it will be a winner

I have N54-specific-SSK too, which is very efficient and enjoyble in driving...but upshifting lag is still there.

I'm sure I've read that there's a software update coming out shortly for the CDV which will address the juddering issues - can anyone confirm? I notice most on "spirited" starts and steep hill starts - quite a few of them where I live
