It might not be a good idea to do any high-speed runs in your new Camaro
A Planet LSX forum member's posted a report with photos of the new Chevy Camaro with a crack on the front fascia's big upper brow reportedly attributed to a high-speed run. UPDATE BELOW.
The cracks, which appear on both sides of the big upper brow of the nose of the new Camaro, were attributed to a high speed run — 155 MPH — earlier in the week. Here's the full report: While I was doing the photo shoot on a 2010 Camaro SS this past Friday, we noticed some cracks forming at the upper corners of the grille. The tech that was assisting us during the shoot said that those happened during a top speed run earlier that week. The car achieved 155 mph, and apparently it lifted the upper part of the nose enough to form the cracks. I'm not sure if this problem has been addressed, or even mentioned before. Surely it can be something that GM can fix by adding more bracing perhaps, or a thicker nose molding. This 2010 SS was a production car, only a week old, so this concerns me. It might not be a good idea to do any high-speed runs in your new Camaro, at least until we understand the problem and how to fix it first. Nevermind the high speed runs, maybe it'd also be a good idea to make sure you don't encounter any stiff winds. Match this nose-cone issue up with the slapped-on brake weights issue and Camaro crap-out we reported last week and you've got yourself a couple of cracks in the otherwise perfect fan-boy fascia of the Camaro |

But UAW union workers make 3 times more than their Japanese counterparts, why should they be building high quality cars?

I guess it's not a good idea to drive the new Camaro past 40 miles:
http://jalopnik.com/5232715/first-ca...rom-dealership Also their brake caliper seemed to be rushed onto production too soon: http://jalopnik.com/5222908/2010-che...-brake-weights Hopefully they're address these issues as wel speak, it's a nice looking car and could potentially save GM

Wow. This wasn't caught at any point in testing during the years and years GM was developing this damn thing? All that extra time, and problems like this....

Seems this wasn't a customer car that had this issue.

I don't understand how a crack like that forms. At first I thought it was a crack forming between the front bumper panel and the front three quarters, but this totally different. Even if it's a pre-production nose, this is pretty outrageous.

Yeah but I rather have the lesser of two evils.. I'll take fuel pump over my car literally falling apart after driving too fast..could you image the compound damage this would cause after 5k miles.
Another note..that's not the nose of the car that's the freaking front corner of the car. The crack is spreading dam near the hood. They may have a serious design flaw scary stuff. Driving a 4,000lb 400+hp car that falling apart..that takes some balls. ill pass
