Question about tint

I just picked up my 335i black saphire/black leather. This past Thursday they had the windows tinted.
My question: When can I power the windows down? and 2 When can I clean the windows?
Any help for a first time owner of tinted windows would be greatly appreciated!

If the weather is good, 24 hours. If it's cold, wait two days.

Most places say the "3 days" to not have you coming back for a retint. If they said you'll be fine in a day and the next day you roll down your window and fuck up the tint then you have to come back and they have to use more tint. By saying 3 covers the if its hot/cold out scenarios. I would suggest at least 2 days for you but waiting the entire 3 shouldn't be unbearable just to make sure.

The last 2 cars I had tinted I told my gf not to roll down the windows and she usually did the day of tint or the next and I never had a problem.

uhh well i think its advised that you wait anywhere from 3-7days after tinting to fully let the ceramic film bond to ur windows... and cleaning the windows... i'd say anytime after that too...

With the current weather in the Midwest I would wait at least 2-3 days before rolling down the windows. You should be fine by tomorrow(Sunday). You should be ok to clean them anytime after you can roll them down.

I'm up in a more nothern climate and I've always been told at least 3 days. I had mine done this past summer and the installer also suggested leaving the car outside on hot days would help the process go faster.

I assume cleaning the inside of the window, i.e. directly on the tint film? I just use a slightly damp microfiber (water damped that is).

Should wait about 2 weeks before cleaning the tint. And if you do you can buy a window cleaner that won't damage tint. Found at any parts store. Also just for some extra help. Keep the rear defrost on it helps make a better bond on the rear window. Remember thats a huge pieces back there you want a good bond.

i was told to wait 3 days to roll down my windows. then the first time i roll them down to spray some water in the channel and roll the windows all the way down and up. and to wait 10 days before cleaning them. and not to use any ammonia based window cleaners or abrasives.

yeah, don't use regular window cleaner, the correct cleaner to use depends on the specific manuf. of tint you got. Either call the tinting place and ask what they would use, or just use a damp cloth.

yup, damp cloth towel with plain water. Do not use windex or any other chemical to clean the tint. The chemical will react to the tint and discolor it over time. That is what I heard 6 years ago when I got my first tint.

Actually, you can use any glass cleaner that doesnt contain ammonia. Eagle 1 glass cleaner works rather well. By using a cleaner that contains ammonia, the windows will usually turn purple looking with time.
