Streets Of Willow May 9th!

Just curious to see if any more 335s will be at SOW. This may be it before it gets too hot for the rest of spring/summer. Though it's quite hot now! First time at this track...looks like a lot of dirt/gravel...is tape recommended? Course looks quite challenging. Less speed than California Speedway but a lot more technical.

and... here's a stock 335 going around the SOW.

I ain't going.

Trail brake to rotate through the skid pad. Drifting it didn't work for me at all. But, the PCA guys that I was with loved seeing the lone sedan squeeling onto the front straight.

So so so so many of the turns are a way later apex than you would think.

Get as many rides passenger with anyone you can. Have someone ride with you that knows more than you. Be safe and have fun.

That ChaseCam stuff is so ill! All the incar shots on SPEED's coverage of the World Challenge GT cars at Long Beach are courtesy of ChaseCam. Ask me how I know.

Were these laps with no gas peddal? And, why weren't you riding passenger with him? Joe's hands on the wheel are... different than I'm used to seeing.

I have a personal rule. I will never again go to a new-to-me track unless its with a "safety first, instruction first" group like the BMWCCA or the PCA or the ACNA. That said, I haven't had the opportunity. I think you'll find more motorcycle vid than car vid if you youtube search sow.

Yes, there were with no gas pedal. Joe didn't want to use the Manly wheel.

I had another student, so I was in and and out of other cars.

I run the low-intermediate and my 1st session will be nice and easy learning the line. Then I slowly increase to 8/10s...I'm there to have fun not racing for the lowest time.
I agree with you. Fortunately, speedventures is quite good about safety and driver etiquette...if you don't belong in a run group or are just downright dangerous, they will bounce you off.

Here is some Streets CCW, there is even a very RARE spin. This was me atttempting to drift, while using my mini cutoff wheel for the first time. I was all good until I went to grab the big hole at the top of the wheel.

I'll post some more CW with me driving later.

Like I said, it was an attempted drift and with my pimpy Momo wheel, I ran into a spot where there was no more Wheel.

I'm really diggin' your race car. is that an E46? Very nice data acquisition system too. A buddy of mine has a DL-90 that I've strapped to my car a few times. really neat system.

It's actually an E36, 325, with the 2.8L motor, only makes a whopping 228 RWHP.

Well, what a blast! Procede Canbus Race map had to be turned down though. Towards the end of the 2nd session boost just went away, then 2 turns later before I could pit, it came back. No limp, codes, or anything. Oil Temp topped out at 285-290 with near 90 ambient temps. Wound up with 68% UT setting and had no further problems. A black E92 M3 in my run group with slicks was fast! Couldn't hold him off in the turns. We'd come into the straight dead even and then the M would slowly walk me over 80. A lot less body roll in those Ms.

Came away unscathed sans a flat corded Hoosier. Complained a little about the rock on the track. Must of been kicked up by people going 2 wheels off. ALthough there were quite a few spins.
