Logic 7 speakers stopped working?

Today I was driving to work and the left side of my car had no sound, just like right. So after 10 min I decided to turn up the volume fairly loud and then the left side came back on..This a common problem? It works fine now, just kinda a weird problem.

1. Definitely take it to the dealer

2. Just as a check, turn OFF the logic 7 surround processing; that is, put it into stereo mode instead.

If #2 makes the problem go away, it is NOT a amplifier/speaker connection problem.
If #2 doesn't fix the problem, then the problem could still be pretty much anything.

I'm betting on headunit issue, but that is from past experience, not in a BMW...

From experience, I would say it will get worse and worse until no sound from that side. (Sorry, don't mean to be mean or anything. What happened to me is that I would have to crank it up higher and higher to get it to come back, until it just wouldn't work anymore.) The good news is you're still under warranty for quite some time hopefully, (I don't know your mileage.)

I don't have that same problem but I do have an issue with my radio not turning on. There are a few threads on it in the audio section. It seems to be pretty common for people with L7 stereos without iDrive. My car is currently at the dealer right now getting it solved amongst other problems.
