What do Lexus and Mercedes have in common?

Both have very few manual transmission, which is understandable for Lexus, sense its mostly a luxury vehicle. But what about Mercedes, the only manual trannys are in the little coupe SLK coupe which are pretty hideous and the C230. I would of considered Merc instead of BMW if they came in manual transmissions. Anyone else ever wish they came in manuals? Or am I just to old school The C63 in a manual would be incredible..

I would probably be driving a C350 Sport instead of my current car if it came in a manual.

Lexus competes with MB only on low-end models.

man, I thought there was going to be a punchline...boo...

Both companies are catered toward the older crowd that values luxury over performance

Agreed. It takes the whole fun out of driving the car. Although I'd still rock BMW over Merc even if they did come in manual.

I agree 100000000000000000000000000000000000%. How do you call the
C63 a major sports sedan and not even OFFER a stick. I would but the M3 over it FOR THAT REASON ALONE.They have a regualar AUTOMATIC not even a DCT type tranny. I will never get it and never own one. This just shows how much they really car about the word sports in sports sedan/coupe.

The biggest joke of a car EVER is the SLR Mclaren at almost 500k. You can get a F430 scud, R8, and an M3 or a POS SLR. AUTOMATIC only in your so called SUPERCAR is laughable. Get a life Benz and your poseur attitude is a joke. Thanks YOU for pointing this out.

Lexus is for middle aged to old middle class buyers who want good bang-for-the-buck luxury cars.

MB sports cars are for people who want the looks and specs of a sports car w/o having to put up with the driving experience, which is inconvenient to many (less luxurious interiors, stick shift, less comfortable seats, etc)

I got a MB for that reason. To sleep and drive at the same time in complete comfort. That's what they're good for. It's a nice break from my real sports car....

Both are as exciting as taxi cabs, but only MB makes taxis?

Damn, I think you beat me. I saw a 60+ year old guy with a monacle in a CLK32, but the top was up. Would have been photo worthy if it was down...

I most likely would own an IS350/ IS-F if it came in a manual, because Lexus is a better looking car than BMW IMHO....
