Yes, the JB3 is a big improvement over the JB+. Peak power might be close, but the JB3 will give yout a much fatter powerband and has many more features that allow you to pick a tune best suited to your car.

FWIW, I have a JB+ running at about 70% with the solenoid bypass, and even on 91 octane I am very impressed with the power. The solenoid bypass seemed to give a little more kick in the low end, so I would recommend doing that.

Just upgraded from the + to the 3 that week. The difference was much more that I had expected. As previously said the power band is much much fatter, pulls to red line much harder. I can't believe how much better the 3 really is. Throw it on you will enjoy it, give it some time and upgrade it. BMS's upgrade policy can't be beat.

Even when you compare the + at 100% to the JB3 the JB3 is hands down more smooth, more powerful and all around more enjoyable to drive. The difference will be very noticeable.

Just install the + and enjoy it and when you are ready you can always upgrade to the JB3 (within 6-months for full credit)

I've run the JB+ @100% with BMS DCI and solenoid bypass and the car was significantly faster than stock. Tons of low end and very nice top end pull. These mods alone will probably keep most people happy for a very long time. I on the other hand was curious to "experience" the JB3 so after about a week I traded my JB+ in (Thanks Mike!).

Fast forward to today....
I am currently running the 1.3 on Map5 with just the DCI and it is ridiculously fast. The gains over the JB+ @100% are very noticeable, especially approaching redline. Power comes on very hard at low rpms and does not fall off even as the revs climb. Another very noticeable difference is the drivability is better than the JB+. The transition from 4K-5K revs is seemless and then the tach flies to redline. I would strongly recommend that everyone running a JB+ try a JB3 at some point in time... You'll thank me later!!!
