USB audio integration help!

Hi, Im having problems with my usb audio integration. I used both my cellphone and ipod shuffle to connect it to my car, but Ive found that some songs dont play (as if those songs dont even exist inside the ipod shuffle/ cellphone and theyre all in mp3 format). I bought a usb stick, tried the same thing, and once again some songs arent played either.

I even unchecked the random playlist and tested it out today several times to confirm this. Does anyone know whats wrong? Thanks in advance

I have been told that sometimes VRB (Variable Bit Rate) encoding can mess up whether a player can read it or not.

I would check that, and the basic file format (ACC, vs MP3)
I have also heard that stripping MP3 tags down to the bare necessities can help.

Hope that helps!

Here is how it worked for me. I ripped my CDs at highest rate using Windows media player. Copied everything to the USB stick (like folder and files, no windows player used for copying). Worked right away, no problem at all. Hope it helps.
Didn't try MP3 player.

Hi thanks for all the replies so far! But Im a little confused.

"I have also heard that stripping MP3 tags down to the bare necessities can help."

I dont really get what that means ^__^

All my songs are in mp3 format. I dont really rip my songs from cds either. I just copy all the mp3s from my laptop directly into my USB stick and plug it into my car's usb port.

Maybe the songs will play if I convert it to another format? =(

What he's saying is that sometimes unusual metadata will screw up players. I'm not aware of any issues with mp3s specifically, but I've seen unrecognized atoms in mpeg4 containers (like the iTunes Plus "pinf" atom for storing the purchaser's name in .m4a's) cause strict parsers to reject a file as corrupted. It's not really a definite problem so much as something to watch out for, especially if you don't know the provenance of your files.

A bit of Googling turns up an mp3 file integrity validator

http://mp3val.sourceforge.net/

I've never used it but it seems like it might be a good sanity-check for files that are being skipped.
