Laser Veil - Worth It?
I tried a google search on this - it appears this forum has not covered the topic of Laser Veil in any great depth - so I figured why not start a discussion?
I bought a can of laser veil the other day - I clearly first tried it out on a loaner vehicle (2009 328 w/xenon's) - observations: 1. light output does not appear to be greatly affected - it is definitely dimmer (more subdued) but still far brighter than a non HID light. 2. the light does appear to have a "purpleish" hue to it when using low-beams (with bi-xenons) ala aftermarket HID kit. 3. On a space grey vehicle it actually looks pretty good... On my 335 I am running a Valentine 1, as well as an Escort Shifter ZR4. The ZR4 does not have the best reviews - I chose it as it was better than the only other model my installer could get (K40). However according to Guys of Lidar (guysoflidar.com) the use of Laser Veil greatly improved the Jammers performance to the point where punch through distance (on those guns that will achieve punch through on a ZR4) to about 200-300 feet (a far cry from where you are generally targeted - and less than half the distance the ZR4 could manage without Veil). What do you guys (and gals) think - should I leave this on my car? Would you put it on yours? For those who have it - please share! |
