All is good my friend, all fixed and looking good
I Will be at the rolling road day on the 19th and I am hoping to have the car detailed in prep for UK5 so it should be looking pretty good. I have my first service in the next couple of weeks so the car is costing me a fortune at the mo |

You may want to think about the change before the RFT's are completely gone - you may have to put them back on when you get rid of the car. Last thing you'll want is to have to shoe it with a new set!

Ah, good point - but I hope to secure a second set of wheels to (a)replace one very slightly kerbed one and (b)provide a spare tyre if/as/when we go on a long trip, perhaps.......oh I don't know!

I know, it's a bit of a gamble - I've got two cans of SUV tyreweld and a compressor in the boot. Should get me 50 miles, same as an RFT! You're still in the same position with a normal tyre or a RF, got to find a replacement - I'd rate my chances better with a non-RF (although I don't know what the BMW assist stance is if don't have RFT's on, as they will assist if you can't find a RF).

With the delicateness of the rear 19" wheels I'd be worried that driving the car with a puncture (particularly one where the tyre deflates quickly) would significantly increase the chance of wheel damage even with the so called Run Flats on.
I spoke to a tyre fitter yesterday who told me many people were upgrading to non-RFT's and finding them to give a much better ride comfort. I'll be speaking to my insurance company about changing them to conventional tyres but don't anticipate it being an issue. |

The only problem I see with non-RFTs is that a can of goo will only repair a small hole in the tyre, and once you've used it, you still have to buy a new tyre. I'm quite happy with the Bridgestone RFTs on my SE, but that's a bit softer than the M-Sport anyway.
