after owning a 2.0L turbo with about 390hp and 350tq and going to a big american v8 I wanted to shoot myself because of how weak and empty the power delivery felt. Then I did something even worse, bought a honda s2000 I will never own another N/A car for a weekend car

Tony has been right this whole time. I don't see what's so hard to understand. The 335 has all it's Torque available at 1800RPM's. That's the exact opposite behavior of what virtually every other turbocharged car exhibits. besides of course Audi.
This 335i, i6TT will pummel many NA V8's out there on the road, turbo lag or not. the 335i shares the same basic engine theory as a stock Toyota Supra(both cars utilize two small turbo's), one of the best, most reliable, most respected engines ever built. with the availability of mods (another "advantage" of turbocharging), you're going to be destroying e46 M3's by 2 car lengths. seems to me people who haven't even driven the 335i are pre-judging it. take it for a test drive before saying you aren't impressed. |
