XI suspension information anyone
Anyone know for certain whether the XI's will have the same suspension, or same ride height as the standard 325/330i's? I heard the rumor that with the e90's the xi's will be the same height as opposed to the e46's where the xi's were about 1 inch higher. Additionally, would I have to wait for suspension kits to be designed for the XI's or could I get one that is fitted for the standard e90's?
thanks Edit: On the BMW website, the only difference listed concerning the suspension that is listed is that there's a subnote: "325xi and 330xi have steel lower arms and a steel subframe, plus an aluminum thrust plate." And apparently, the 530xi and 530 have no suspension difference? Last edited by lhoboy8; 09-21-2005 at 04:44 AM.. |

As far as i know the Xi has totally different suspension and uses different offset wheels due to the xDrive system
It also seems to sit a bit higher than the normal E90 |

The xi models ride 5mm higher that the normal rwd E90s.
And they have their own suspension calibration, which does not change even if you add a sport package.

According to page 83 of this:
http://clem.e46fanatics.com/BfestE90/BFestE90.pdf The suspension is the same across all 3 series models, with the exception of aluminum vs. steel, although the car has a .02 inch height difference. Does this mean that they aftermarket tuners will find it easier to make suspension kits for the xi's? or possible to use i's suspension kits on the xi's? |
