Yeah, I have the AA FMIC. I also have 4k miles on it with no probs, and that's running a JB+ at full boost and a JB3 on Map 6. It wasn't until I changed to the Forge DV's that this happened.

Anyway, I'll have have the shop check it out. Thanks for the pointer on a potential root cause!
If you are using the yellow springs with the Forge DV's they take more pressure to crack open....so that certainly could have been enough to push things over the edge.

BTW, I am about to order a set of Forge valves to hopefully cure a small boost wobble I suspect can be traced back to the stock diverter valves. How do you like them? Most people report crisper shifts, better boost stability and throttle response.

All of the above...plus a slight wooshing sound after boost that wasn't there before. Almost sounds like a BOV without the "ding".

Hi guys, I had the exact same problem with my 135i. I also have Forge DV. Mine is track car that is used at very high revs more often than not, and I didn't have any issue for some 4 or 5 track days after installing the Forge DV. Then just before I was due at a race meet, it happened. What we suspect has happened is that the inside of the charge pipe has been covered with oil from not having a catch can, hence only having this issue now and not earlier. My mechanic (Andrew@SouthernBM who is also a member here) popped it back in, and within 20km of driving, it popped out again. This happened the first time I fully opened up the throttle. Andrew then secured it with clamps and ties to last my race meet last weekend. We still have to sort out what to do with it. Can those of you with information of the aftermarket charge pipe please post a link? That may be our only solution without removing the Forge DV. I really like how the Forge DV holds boost so I am reluctant to remove it. And to the OP, do you have a catch can?

I do have the STETT charge pipe on my car now and I have posted pictures of it (and I can show you more if you need me to), and I think your information backs up what STETT anticipated. Oil is collecting where the charge seals to the TB. I think the solution is two fold and both have been addressed by STETT. The clip is not enough to hold the charge pipe on and the ring slot on the TB is a collector of oil. STETT addressed to "securing the charge pipe" issue with T-Bolt clamps and using a notched silicone coupler to grab the charge pipe. Second, that same notch on the silicone coupler eliminates the slot on the TB from collecting oil. I think it is a very viable solution.

Thanks. Searching for the STETT charge pipe now. I don't really venture into e90 as I have a 135i, but Andrew@southernBM found this thread and thought I should read it.

I had a RR Catch can that was leaking like crazy. Recently replaced with a McKinney. That said, I didn't notice any oil in or around the charge-pipe and throttle body. Then again, I wasn't looking for any either.

That's what I would like to ask also. Is this happening only with the yellow spring? Since I am running only an Injen intake and PROcede map 1 I would probably let the green spring good up to 15 psi, I will let you know if I get any problems also with this.

A little OT but...It MATRIX for 335's.. We just need Keanu driving a 335

Take the "Green Spring" and all is well
Take the 'Yellow Spring" and live life on the edge....
