JB3 1.3 PNP?
is the JB3 1.3 PNP invisible when you take it in for service if they run the car for codes? or does it need to be taken off every time and clear the codes?

You should always take off the piggyback. No need to risk your warranty.

Run maps 0-5 to not throw codes and be invisible.. Anything higher are the agressive and race maps which MIGHT throw codes and are suppose to be used with the BT cable to read/clear codes.
PnP makes the install/removal pretty simple. I only usually take mine out if there is a problem and not for routine service or someting that is not related to the engine/tranny. |

My buddy is a SA at a local Bimmer dealership and he told me that techs will never go into the ecu unless there is a problem. All they do for a routine maintenance is an oil change and a quick diagnostic. Regardless if you run map 3 or map 8, I would highly recommend anyone running a tune to invest in the BT scan tool. It does a lot more than just erase codes. I have a couple of buddies that leave their JB in their cars and run a BT prior to service. Never any issues. They change their JB3 to map 0 prior to service.

Take it off!
Take it off. Clear codes if any. Take in for service. Put back on after service. Kick some butt! Don't risk it by keeping JB3 on the car for a service.
It gets easier to put in and take off including all the covers after some practice. See general guide:
