Easy DIY M3 speaker grills

I really like the look of the new M3 speaker grills but think $50 is too much to pay so I started messing around with my stock grey grills.

What do you think?

I popped the mesh off, tossed the foam insert and painted the frame silver and the mesh flat black.

Not too bad for one evenings work.

is there a difference with the foam inserts off? louder? more distortion? anything noticable?

You can pop them out easily, but you need to remove the panel and speaker to reinstall. Easy job really.

I did the same, but I but the grills from BMW. They are only 13 dollars.

it is kind of a cheap bastard mod, but you still save $50 (e90 x4)
