Law says 70% but some tint shops will quote it as 85% if the shop is conservative on the work they do. The bacon around the area of Cali I live have been going as far as hassling folks with 50ish....pretty much somes down to if the cop wants to be an a-hole or if it is light enough to see you in the driver/pass front sides....any windshield tint is asking to get stopped
