Which radar detector is best/How wide can you go?!

Hey guys, new to the forum, great resource though. I have my 335i sedan due beginning of december and will be scheduling the vishnu upgrade before christmas. I've had two speeding tickets in the last three months in my 330xi because I purchased a new home and my new route to my office is littered with PIGS. Anyways, I was hoping you guys could fill me in on what the best radar detectors are currently.

Another question, I was planning on buying some new rims/tires for my 335 for the summer time and use the stock ones for winter. I figured I would buy some wider tires since I won't have LSD with the vishnu tune. How wide can I go??????

Solo S2 hasn't failed me yet. It's also battery operated and can easily be used in many different vehicles which is a plus for wifey or gf's car on trips!

Detector - V1

I'd really recommend a "jammer" though. They're legal in I believe 43ish states.

Really though the best way to avoid tickets is to keep your eyes open.

Ditto on that. The range is not as good as a regular Passport since it's running on battery power but it's good enough. I don't care if I know the cop is 2 miles down the road, I just need enough time to slow down and it handles that very well.

Not having a cord hanging there and the ability to easily move it from car to car are great as well.

have a valentine 1 and x50 and tried them both on and the valentine 1 was just giving alot of false alarms and the x50 only went on when it was supposed to. and the valentine 1 will go on if there is an another radar detector near but the x50 won't. got rid of the valentine 1 and the x50 saved my ass so many times. did 140mph and had enough time to slow down (without harsh braking) and saw a cop cruisng pass opposite me.

I have a v1 currently. personally, not a fan of it. I have it hard-wired so the wires are not an issue.

The issue is false alarms on the K band every single day on my local commute drives. also, the Indication of what band the module is picking up is TERRIBLE;
it has 4 led's closely spaced with 4 small font white letters on the right of the LED's. At night, it is impossible to know which Band it is.

On my friends passport, and my other friends Beltronics, they both have a LCD screen which actualyl displays which band it is, as well as having a voice to say aloud what band it is. 100% sure im gonna get a different detector for my next purchase.
