There is no perfect answer or solution for "so, BMW doesn't want me to modify my car past "X" spec, BUT... I want to AND....I want to never run the risk of getting caught?"

If you want the extra performance, there is a chance that you are going be put into a situation that makes your life inconvenient before your service call or you run the risk of BMW void parts of your drive train warranty.

Easy way to deal with this is leave the car stock.

or

JB+/SSTT and a BT scanner is the second best bet

JB3/Proceed + BT scanner

and so on with each mod added
Well said & fair enough...

If you guys know how to drive a car and unscrew bolts. Installation is EASY...A well trained monkey can even do it. Leaving the tune in the car is asking for problems just cuz of lazyness. Also saving $300 bucks and not getting a BT scanner is the dumbest $300 you'll ever save in the long run.

Run the video as you install, one step by one. It will be a shame not to go with jb3 only because of difficulty of installation. It will take you hours for the first time. Once you know what to do, it will be a piece of cake.
