9000 mile oil change required??

Hi Guys,

My Car has 9600 miles on it. When i first bought the car, it when i hit the start button, it flashed 15000. This morning i realized when i hit the start key it flashes 9000 miles.

Should i bring my car in for the 15000 oil change??

yea its weird... like at first I thought I was supposed to bring the car in when my miles met the computer's miles at startup... apparently your supposed to bring in your car when the computer's miles at startup go to 0... so actually your first full service will be around 18k. i'm not sure why its like that...

i mean i dont know if the bmw service expected me to be shifting at like 6k everytime... thats why it was at the initial 15k... but i dunno... i have 8k miles and about 9k left i believe... but i have already gotten my oil change done at 7k and am planning to get one again at the full year mark... cause its free?

The OBC counts down for the oil change.
Like the others have said, once it hits the "0" mark, then you should get your oil changed. Though most agree that it doesn't hurt to get it done early.
